Governing Board Calls Jonathan Schroeder to be MLS President
The Governing Board of Michigan Lutheran Seminary has called Rev. Jonathan Schroeder of Sharpsburg, Georgia, to be the sixth president of MLS.
Pastor Schroeder attended Lutheran Elementary School in Bay City, Michigan, and is a 1991 graduate of MLS. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin; and his master of divinity degree from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, in 1999.
Presently he serves as pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Sharpsburg, Georgia, where he was assigned in 1999. The congregation has almost 300 members, with over 50 students enrolled in its preschool. Pastor Schroeder is a member of the synod’s Technology Advisory Committee and the Ad Hoc Committee constituted by the 2007 synod in convention.
Jon is married to Jennifer (nee Lorenz). They have three children (ages 10, 8 and 5).
We ask God’s blessing on Pastor Schroeder’s deliberation.
